EV charging JomCharge × Caltex

Caltex hosts JomCharge DC fast chargers at a handful of North-South Expressway lay-bys. We independently verified 3 sites live; Caltex/JomCharge has not published a single master list of every site, so this is a verified sample, not a complete inventory.

Unlike Petronas's Gentari (publicly listed) or Petron's TNB Electron rollout, Caltex/JomCharge has not published a consolidated site list — there may be more sites beyond the 2 verified above, marked NA rather than assumed absent.

Where Caltex could improve

Independent suggestions based on the recurring patterns in the reviews and media mentions above — not official Caltex plans or commitments.

🔍
Understand the Nor Petrol outlier before promoting it
Caltex Nor Petrol (Pasir Mas, Kelantan) holds the highest verified rating in the entire network — 4.5★ — but on just 42 reviews, the smallest base of any station analysed. It could be a genuine standout, or a small sample not yet stress-tested by volume.
Suggested fix: A quiet mystery-shop of Nor Petrol before featuring it in marketing — if the 4.5★ holds up operationally, it's a genuine case study for what small East Coast stations can achieve.
🔄
Communicate the Eneos ownership transition clearly
Chevron's May 2026 agreement to sell its Southeast Asian downstream business — including 450+ Malaysian Caltex stations — to Eneos keeps the Caltex brand, but customer- and staff-facing uncertainty during a multi-year handover is a real risk.
Suggested fix: Proactively reassure customers that B Infinite/CaltexGO rewards, staff, and station branding continue unchanged through the transition, rather than leaving it to be inferred from news coverage.
Decide what EV charging is for
Only 3 JomCharge DC fast-charging sites were independently verifiable against a 450+ station network, and unlike Petronas's Gentari, there's no published master list — thinner and less documented than competitors.
Suggested fix: Either publish a complete, findable list of live JomCharge-at-Caltex sites, or explicitly position EV as a niche highway-rest offering rather than a stalled nationwide promise.
